Highway in Edinburg Ranked #1 Among Deadliest Stretches
Deadliest Highway Located in The Rio Grande Valley
According to a study from the Austin-based law group, the deadliest stretch of highway in Texas is the 1.49 miles of I-69C in Edinburg, Texas between FM 2812 and Monte Cristo Road. This stretch of highway is located just north of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Edinburg campus. Over that section of 69C, there were twelve fatalities between 2013 and 2015, in seven fatal crashes. That’s an average of 8.05 fatalities per mile.
Keeping this statistics in mind you should become more cautious on the road. Accidents can happen anytime wherever you are and practicing safe driving can prevent a catastrophic event from happening. Although, the population in the Rio Grande Valley is not as large as in other cities, these statistics prove the high risks of being caught in an unfortunate car crash. It is important to have someone who will be by your side when this happens.
